Analyst Developer

The Analyst Developer ensures the improvement of the home based business logic and corresponding web based interfaces. He/She ensures that there is always a strong focus on automation, in order to maintain Voxbone's position as an industry-leader of telecommunication software services.

Working in an Open Source friendly environment using the latest industry development standards like Linux, Tomcat, Mysql, Java, Spring, Hibernate, JSF, the Analyst Developer participates in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle:

Key Responsibilities :
* Design
o    Participate in the analysis of project requirements with team leaders
o    Create and design adequate software solutions with the help of the architect
o    Code the solution
o    Test designed solution

* Improvement: Continuously improve developed software environment and tools from a technical and functional aspects
* Maintenance: Ensure that all systems are up and running

Profile :

* A degree in computer science, a master in engineering (IT), or equivalent through experience
* Minimum 3 year experience in J2EE Development in a Business Environment
* Competent with databases concepts, SQL and JDBC
* Knowledge in JPA and Spring or JSF is an asset
* Knowledge of development under Linux is an asset
* Fluency in English (written and oral)
* Team player

Manager of the Development Department

The Manager of the Development Department provides inspirational leadership and direction to Developers in order to achieve company objectives and meet customer needs. He/She is responsible for the development and management of the home based business logic and corresponding web based interfaces, in order to ensure that there is always a strong focus on automation, in order to maintain Voxbone's position as an industry-leader in telecommunication software services.

Key Responsibilities :
The Manager of the Development Department manages a team of Developers working in an Open Source environment using the latest industry development standards such as Linux, Tomcat, Mysql, Java, Spring, Hibernate, JSF.  His/her main responsibilities are as follows:

Project management:
•    Prepare, discuss and prioritize the needs in collaboration with other departments
•    Ensure review and approval of Project Initiation Document and Project Description Document
•    Organize division of projects in milestones and delivery dates
•    Ensure the management of resources:
o    Estimate & monitor activity levels of developers, and allocate human resources to projects
o    Allocate and follow-up budget resources
•    If relevant, propose a development methodology and ensure its implementation and improvement

Coordination, communication and cross functional relations:
•    Ensure follow up of projects and communicate accordingly
o    Act as a single point of contact for other departments on project decision and status
o    Ensure continuous feedback & follow-up between all intervening parties
•    Foster close collaboration between development department and other departments.
•    Lead coordination of all activities of the team

Leadership and Management:
•    Organize and develop the structure of the department in order to ensure that it meets the current needs of the company
•    Monitor resource allocation of the team and the structure
•    Act as a role model to inspire trust and commitment
•    Implement an efficient leadership in order to motivate, develop and inspire staff
o    Set objectives, assess performance and address skill development
o    Build teamwork
o    Identify outstanding talent to fill vacancies, in collaboration with the HR Department.

Profile :

Education / Professional experience:
•    A master in engineering (IT), or degree in computer science
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in people management
•    Experience in IT project management
•    Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in the IT industry.
•    Experience in the Telecom industry is a strong asset.

Technical knowledge:
•    Working knowledge of IT Project Management
•    Strong technical writing skills including process documentation and coding documentation stand-ards (J2EE Development , databases concepts, SQL and JDBC, JPA and Spring, JSF, Linux )
•    Excellent capacity to gather business requirements and translate them into Development Projects
•    Demonstrated ability to collaborate and develop projects with non-technical partners
•    Demonstrated ability to mentor and train technical professionals

SS7 Switching Engineer

VOXBONE is looking for a SS7 Switching Engineer to join its Infrastructure team based in Brussels.

Key Responsibilities :
The SS7 Switching Engineer works on the maintenance and expansion of the SS7 network and access points, distributed over Europe, the Americas and Asia.

* Prepare and proceed with SS7 interop tests with incumbent operators
* Monitor and maintain the core network and the SS7 to VoIP gateways
* Ensure update of systems
* Ensure upgrade of capacity
* Troubleshoot issues
* Act as an escalation point for the customer support team
* Manage internal and external projects involving various suppliers (including hardware suppliers, data centres, and incumbents)

Profile :
* Degree in Engineering (IT or Telecom) at Master level or equivalent by experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in the Telecom industry
* Experience in interop tests is a strong asset
* Deep knowledge of the SS7 protocol (MTP & ISUP) and certifications tests
* Experience with different types of switches
* Good knowledge of Linux, Asterisk and scripting languages is an asset
* Fluent in English - Any other language is an asset

System Engineer / Linux Expert

VOXBONE is looking for a System Engineer / Linux Expert to join its Infrastructure team based in Brus-sels.

Key Responsibilities :
The System Engineer / Linux Expert works on the analysis and deployment of different systems for corporate and production usage on systems distributed over Europe, the Americas and Asia.
System Engineer / Linux Expert performs the following for the core business of Voxbone and also for internal systems:

- Systems analysis
* Analyse the needs of the company in terms of systems
* propose the best solution
* Implement solutions

- System maintenance
* Maintain the systems security and integrity
* Improve and maintain the current infrastructure in order to reduce costs and increase capabilities of the systems

- Act as an escalation point for IT operational team
- Manage internal and external projects on an ad hoc basis involving various suppliers (including hardware suppliers, data centres)

Profile :
* Degree in Engineering (IT or Telecom) at Master level or equivalent by experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in the IT industry
* Strong expertise in Linux systems and services
* Excellent knowledge of scripting languages like bash, perl and others
* Good knowledge in hardware architecture
* Experience with database management and storage systems
* Expertise in networking, security and virtualization is an asset

VoIP & Network Support Engineer

VOXBONE is looking for a bright, organized and energetic VoIP & Network Support Engineer who has a very strong work ethic.
He/she will join our support team and help in supporting our current wholesale customers and network and our VOIP carriers.
He/she will strengthen his/her experience in VoIP support and will have the opportunity to work in close contact with our customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities :
* Manage customer technical inquiries by phone and email
* Troubleshoot technical issues with customers and third party VoIP carriers
* Enhance the technical documentation available to our customers
* Monitor our network and our carriers

Profile :
* You have a bachelor degree or equivalent through experience
* Good knowledge of SIP and TCP/IP
* Having skills in Linux systems, Java applications, or open-source VoIP applications is an asset
* Previous technical support experience is an asset
